BOURNE BAPTIST CHURCH
Wellbeing
Many people experience anxiety or stress at different points in life. Feeling overwhelmed does not mean you are weak or failing – it means you are human.
Common Questions
What does anxiety or stress feel like?
Anxiety and stress can feel different for everyone. You might notice racing thoughts, worry, tension in your body, difficulty sleeping, or feeling overwhelmed. These responses are common and do not mean there is something wrong with you.
Why do I feel anxious even when nothing seems wrong?
Sometimes anxiety is a response to pressure, uncertainty, or past experiences rather than immediate danger. Your body and mind may be trying to protect you, even if it doesn’t feel helpful at the time.
Is it okay to ask for help?
Yes. Asking for help is a positive and courageous step. You do not have to face anxiety or stress alone, and support is available.
Can faith and anxiety exist together?
Yes. Many people of faith experience anxiety. Faith does not remove all struggles, but it can offer comfort, strength, and hope while you seek support.
