MINISTRY
FAQ
Whether you’re a young person thinking of joining or a parent wanting to know more, here are the most common questions we get about the Youth Program.
Who can come to Youth?
Our Youth Groups are open to all young people in Years 7–13, whether or not they attend Bourne Baptist Church. Everyone is welcome – whatever their background or beliefs – to come along, make friends, and take part in fun, inclusive sessions built around community and creativity.
Do I need to be part of the Church to join the Youth?
Not at all! Many of our young people don’t attend church on Sundays. Our Youth Ministry is here for the whole community, offering a place to belong, explore, and grow – with no pressure, just a warm welcome for everyone.
How much does it cost to attend?
Our weekly Youth Groups are free to attend. However our Monday and Thursday groups have got food costs which you can find by clicking here. Occasionally we have special trips or events like Satellites which do have a cost. If finances are ever a concern, speak to our team – support is always available.
Typically, what happens at Youth?
Every session is different, but expect fun, friendship, and conversation. We play games, get creative, chat about real-life topics, and explore faith in ways that are relevant and relaxed. It’s a space to belong, unwind, and grow together.
Who leads the Youth Ministry?
Our Youth Ministry is led by Nathan Jones and a dedicated team of DBS-checked volunteers that all share one goal: helping young people grow in faith, confidence, and community.
How do you keep young people safe?
Safeguarding is our top priority. All leaders follow our church’s Safeguarding Policy and complete regular training.
We are also launching a Youth Wellbeing Space for young people if they need any support, physically, emotionally, and spiritually. We do have our Church’s Wellbeing Space which has the same tools for all ages.
Can I bring a friend?
Definitely! We love when young people invite their friends along. Whether they’ve been to church before or not, everyone is welcomed and included right away – it’s one of the best ways to grow our community.
How can parents stay informed?
Parents can stay updated through our social media platforms which share stories and event updates. But can also contact Nathan directly to find out what’s coming up next.
