BOURNE BAPTIST CHURCH

Safeguarding

Safeguarding at Bourne Baptist Church

As Bourne Baptist Church, we recognise the vital importance of safeguarding children and young people from harm. We are committed to following UK legislation and best practice in child protection, including the Children Act 2004, the Children and Social Work Act 2017, and the Children and Families Act 2014. Our priority is to ensure the safety, wellbeing, and protection of all children and young people entrusted to our care.

Any safeguarding concerns should be reported to the Designated Safeguarding Lead, Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead, or the Pastoral Care Deacon at the church. Contact details are listed below.

If you believe a child is suffering, or is at risk of suffering, significant harm – including any form of abuse or mistreatment – you must report your concerns at all times.

  • If there is no immediate danger and you require advice or guidance, members of the public can contact Children’s Services Customer Service Centre on 01522 782111.
  • If your concern arises outside normal office hours, please contact the Emergency Duty Team on 01522 782333.
  • In an emergency, always dial 999.

Experiencing worries or concerns?

We recognise that children and young people may experience worries or concerns. To support them, we have established a wellbeing program that allows young people to access any advice and guidance about anything that may be worrying them.

If you are an Adult who may be also experiencing worries or concerns, please go to our Pastoral Structure page to find all information regarding support we can offer, or please refer yourself to our Wellbeing area.
