What does anxiety feel like?

Anxiety can feel like worry you can’t switch off, a tight chest, racing thoughts, or feeling panicky or restless. Everyone experiences it differently.

Pressure can build up slowly. Even small things can add together and feel overwhelming without you realising it.

Yes. Talking things through can really help, even if you’re not sure what to say yet.

Yes. Lots of people who believe in God still feel anxious. Faith doesn’t remove stress, but it can help you feel supported through it.

  • A one-to-one chat with a youth leader

  • Prayer support (only if you want it)

  • Someone to listen without judgement

  • Help finding extra support if needed

  • Slow your breathing for a minute

  • Take a short break from screens

  • Write down what’s worrying you

  • Talk to someone you trust
